The 30’s, 70’s, and Dave Dudley v2.0

I recently noticed Double L absorbed in a website called Twitter. I’d never heard of it so I asked her what it is. I couldn’t believe it when she told me she was reading quick notes that strangers were posting about what they were doing in that moment. Puzzled, I wandered off into the night.

A few days later it occurred to me that Twitter is the internet version of the old telephone party line. You can hop on Twitter and “listen” in on people’s lives. Well, this makes perfect sense to the voyeur side of my brain.

This got me thinking about the net in general. I’ve decided the internet is simply a 21st century CB radio. Instead of calling out for smokey reports and lot lizard locations while cruising the open road, we sit on our couches and cruise the super highway looking for smokey, lot lizard porn.

All of this leaves me with two questions:  First, how can I change the “comment” link to say “Come on back and talk to Teddy Bear”? And second, who will be this format’s Dave Dudley?

I’m Out.
